They can have single or double blossoms. You will know for sure if the leaves emerge a reddish purple. It is one of the earliest flowering trees, so spring is definitely on the way, Missoula.

The white blossoms are one variety of spirea, and often referred to as Bridal Wreath. I adore this one too. Plant one of these, lock up the pruning shears, and it will will reward you with a fountain of blossom covered boughs every year in the spring.
