When I first received Louisa's note about potentially photographing her wedding, I was so thrilled and incredibly honored to be asked. Louisa and I both attended Carleton College as undergrads, lived in the same dorm and same floor our freshman year (good ol' Goodhue), and also took multiple English classes together (the Jane Austen class stands out for me especially). Family Fun! :: The Knutson Family’s Missoula Portrait Session
I love photographing this time of year - the late spring yields lush greens, dramatic Montana skies, and lots of brightly colored wildflowers. It was even more fun to meet up with Carol and her family for their Missoula family portrait session. We walked the hills, made wishes on flowers, laughed a ton, and managed to dodge a few raindrops while we were at it. Carol, thanks again for such a great session with your beautiful family! Bravery at its Best :: Richard Hoover for Paralyzed Veterans of America
It was such an honor to photograph Richard Hoover for Paralyzed Veterans of America. PVA hired me last December to do this shoot, and I can only say that I left Richard's home feeling so grateful to have met him, completely inspired by his stories, my heart full to the brim. Richard Hoover was a fighter pilot in Vietnam and had flown 148 missions. As you might expect, this time was no walk in the park. He told me of bullets whizzing past the engines and propellers of his jets, many long intense hours in the air, and bombs going off near their camps as they slept at night.
