I was so excited when Taylor contacted me about making some baby and family photos at her family’s place on Flathead Lake, because I had photographed her little sister, Kristi’s, senior photos there 7 years prior! Not only that, but I had made a few images of Taylor and Matt during that session, too. And they had only just been dating at the time! Fast forward a few years, and Taylor and Matt are married now and have a darling little baby boy, Maximilian!

Max was 2 months old during our most recent session, and what a little trooper he was! He loved looking at the sky, getting kisses from his doggo siblings, is a huge fan of all of his parents’ smiles and tickles, thinks his Aunt Colleen and Uncle Carter are pretty rad, and got super jazzed when he had the opportunity to stand on the dock (with a little help from his mom). Max wasn’t the biggest fan of hanging out in a bowl of cherries, though it was still pretty cute. (There’s a cherry orchard on the property, and Taylor and Matt told me that it’s become a family tradition to photograph their family’s babies in bowls of cherries.)

As per usual, Flathead Lake and Montana treated us to a gorgeous backdrop with a stunner of a sunset – you know, to put the proverbial cherry on top of the session. (Sorry, not sorry for that pun!)

I could go on and on here, but I’ll let the photos speak for themselves – it was such a special evening with everyone!

Taylor, Matt, Max, Carter and Colleen (and doggos, too!) Thank you so much for a truly delightful session – I loved getting to see you again, and am so glad you got to spend some time introducing little mister Max to Montana! What a sweetheart he is – congrats again!

I was just so gosh darn excited when Melissa contacted me to ask about making some photos of her, her husband, Sean, and their 2-month-old baby girl, Emma for their Missoula family and baby photos while they were in town visiting! We’d had such a great time together capturing their wedding day, so I knew the photos with their newest little addition would be such a treat!

As was the theme this summer, we had to dodge some raindrops (and some thunder, which safely stayed far, far away from us), but everyone handled it beautifully. It turns out that Emma seemed to really love the Montana breeze on her adorable smiling cheeks and blowing through her baby hair – it literally had her grinning for us!

She was the cutest little trooper as a few raindrops fell here and there, and had us all cooing at her grins! Emma kept us on the move, too, as she’s a girl with places to go and people to see, and she’s clearly captured the hearts of her two proud parents.

Speaking of parents, it was so fun to see Melissa and Sean in their new roles, which they’re excelling at! Sean was the kindest, making sure Melissa and Emma always had an umbrella if needed, and Melissa was right there by Emma’s side to ensure her tiny tootsies didn’t get too chilled in the sprinkles.

Melissa, Sean and Emma! Thank you again for such a delightful session – I still can’t get over what a sweet family of three you are, and loved getting to meet little miss Emma! Thank you so much for sharing your joy with me and those darling little baby smiles of Emma’s – here’s to your newest adventure together and congratulations again!

I tell you, there’s nothing better than getting to document such happy milestones in people’s lives. And I’ve been so honored to get to photograph Kelci and Michael’s happiest moments – from their engagement, to their wedding, to their maternity images and now to their adorable daughter Hallie’s Missoula newborn baby photos!

I was so excited to get to meet miss Hallie, and my word is she ever adorable! Hallie was wide awake and bright-eyed for our session, and so eager to look at the world at only 6 days new! She has got the cutest, softest cheeks (that just demand a little gentle squishing), the sweetest little toes and fingers, and she’s got her parents’ calm and happy demeanor, too!

She was such a little superstar for her newborn session and barely fussed at all. And even when she did, Michael just hummed to her in a low tone and she immediately relaxed, settled down, closed her eyes and blissed out. Pretty amazing to watch that!

It goes without saying I suppose, but part of why I love these sessions is getting to see couples in their new roles as parents. And Kelci and Michael are every bit the superstars that their daughter is too. They can’t take their eyes off of her (I couldn’t either and can absolutely see why!), they work so well together as a team, and they are just over the moon in love with little Hallie. Being able to document that pure love just about melts me completely, and is one of my favorite, favorite things.

Kelci and Michael and Hallie! Thank you again for such a sweet, love-filled session! I’ve said this a bazillion times, but I just loved getting to meet Hallie (seriously, I could barely muster myself to pack up and head out!), and even more so, I loved getting to see you three as the beautiful new family that you are. Thank you so much for inviting me into your lives to document these special new stages – being able to do this for you just makes my heart sing! Congrats, congrats, congrats again to the three of you!

I think one of the best parts of my job is getting to photograph families as they grow. So when Lindsay contacted me to ask about doing Florence Montana lifestyle newborn photos of her sweet little baby girl, Piper, I was just tickled! Not only was I excited to meet Piper, but I was so looking forward to seeing Lindsay and Scott and their daughter, Madison again – whom I’d photographed two years earlier in 2015 as a newborn herself.

It is such a huge understatement to say just how much I loved their session. Piper was as sweet as can be at twelve days new, and pretty awake and alert just like her big sister had been during her session too! She dozed off a couple times after filling her belly, but for the most part she wanted to see what was going on (though I’m sure things were all pretty blurry!).

Madison was especially interested in pointing out Piper’s fingers and toes, and loved giving her little sister big “high fives!” She even showed Piper the best way to smell flowers (and then had Piper wear a few flowers too!), and she was eager to see how big her feet were compared to her baby sister’s.

It was so fun to see Lindsay, Scott and Madison as a new family of four, and to see just how much love they have for baby Piper. Piper’s grandparents, Lou and Kevin, were in town, too, and definitely enjoyed some baby snuggles as well.

Madison was also pretty excited to have her dad to herself for a few moments here and there as Piper filled her belly, so we had a great time checking out their horses, climbing fences, picking peas, tomatoes and raspberries in their garden, and getting pretty darn giddy over a wacky-looking beetle!

Lindsay, Scott, Madison, Piper, Lou and Kevin – thank you so much for inviting me to document your beautiful family again! It’s a huge understatement to say just how much I loved your session and how full my heart was after, and I’m just so happy for you all! Congratulations again on your darling Piper!

When Nicole contacted me about photographing their new baby girl, Marlowe, for Missoula newborn and family portraits I was so excited to get to work with them again. Just a few short years earlier, I had had such a wonderful time photographing their brand new baby boy, Ted! And Ted’s now a walking, talking two-year-old who has the cutest little smile and is pretty proud to be a big brother to his baby sister.

Ted was happy to share plenty of kisses with Marlowe, he helped me count her fingers, and we all had a blast saying some silly words that got us all cracking up. :)

Marlowe rolled with our photo shoot shenanigans, dozed in the warm summer air most of the time, and occasionally opened her eyes for us a few times here and there. But mostly she was content to sleep in Nicole and Ryan’s arms, her dark lashes resting on her adorable cheeks.

Nicole, Ryan, Ted and Marlowe – thank you again for inviting me to photograph your absolutely beautiful family! It’s such a treat to get to watch your family grow and to see Ted again as such a big boy! Congratulations to you all once again!

So….I’m not sure there’s anything better than meeting past bride’s and groom’s adorable little babies – and that certainly was the case when I met up with Nicole, Jason, their twin babies Walker and Gia, and Nicole’s sister and brother and their families for their Thanksgiving get-together outside of Missoula, at the ranch Nicole and Jason celebrated their wedding day. (You might recognize Nicole and Jason from the cover of the Brides and Grooms magazine a few years back.)

It was so nice to see everyone again and meet such sweet little bundles of cute! We all had a great time being goofy for the babies and walking around the ranch a bit to make photos for everyone.

Thank you again, Nicole, Jason and family for inviting me to capture the memories of your families. It was such a treat, and SO wonderful to see you again!

Could there be anything better than spending time on Flathead Lake? I’m pretty sure that the lake is a recipe for paradise. And the Chandler family enjoys a piece of this every summer at their family’s Flathead Lake cabin.

I met up with them there to document their 7-month-old daughter, Marianne’s, first time at the lake, and make some fun images of them hanging out and doing their thing. Marianne showed us all how best to munch on rocks and mangoes, how to splash in the lake properly, and how to grin so adults hearts melt (I know mine certainly did!). :)

Thank you so much for inviting me to spend a little time with you all and capture some super fun memories! I had a blast!
