When I first received Louisa’s note about potentially photographing her wedding, I was so thrilled and incredibly honored to be asked. Louisa and I both attended Carleton College<\/a> as undergrads, lived in the same dorm and same floor our freshman year (good ol’ Goodhue), and also took multiple English classes together (the Jane Austen class stands out for me especially). It was so fun to hear her talk about her fiance, Paul, and I knew we’d have a great time on her wedding day. Add to that, she was having a Schenectady, New York wedding, and I’m always happy to hop on a plane, get to hang out with old friends, make new ones, and explore a new city.<\/p>\n

Louisa and Paul’s wedding at St. George’s Church in the Stockade neighborhood of Schenectady was nothing short of beautiful. The weather decided to shape up and treated us to sun and blue skies, the church was brilliant and bright, and everyone was smiling and full of happiness for these two.<\/p>\n

Throughout their ceremony, Louisa and Paul exchanged so many sweet expressions with one another, and were treated to soaring harmonies by the church choir (Louisa’s part of the choir too!).<\/p>\n

The two exchanged vows and rings, and smiled as they kissed for the first time as husband and wife. As Louisa and Paul made their way down the aisle, friends and family erupted in cheers and laughter, which spilled out the doors of the church as the bells rang throughout the neighborhood, jubilant and bright.<\/p>\n

As guests meandered over to the reception, Louisa, Paul and I took a little detour through the Stockade neighborhood, which is where Louisa had an apartment at one point. There are so many beautiful buildings and so much rich history in this part of town – I’m so glad we had a moment to take a little stroll and make some images of just the newlyweds together, happy and beaming.<\/p>\n

We rejoined Louisa and Paul’s guests at the reception where they joined together in their first dance. Soon we were treated to some sweet toasts, tasty food, and dancing.<\/p>\n

Louisa and Paul – I can’t express enough just how honored I was to do this for you. It was such a treat to see you both so happy together, and I am so excited for your happiness to grow throughout the years. The most heartfelt of congratulations to you both!<\/p>\n
