Emily and Andy's White Raven wedding in Montana was filled with beauty, love, and plenty of laughter as they celebrated with their family and friends. A few dark clouds rolled through right as their day was getting started, but Mother Nature knew to treat these two well, and the clouds hung off to the side as everyone finished getting ready. Emily and Andy were eager to see each other, and enjoyed a super sweet first look among some late-blooming lupine and lush green grass on the property. Andy was all smiles as soon as Emily tapped him on the shoulder to greet him, and they shared a long embrace as they admired each other in their ...

Tim, Courtney, Teddy + Violet :: Flathead Lake family photos
The ultimate compliment to me is getting to photograph families over the years and watch them grow together. I absolutely love getting to capture Flathead Lake family photos with Tim, Courtney, Teddy, and Violet. It's been a couple years since I last saw them (heyo, pandemic times), but it felt like we hadn't missed a beat in how we all hang out with each other. I just love their fun, spontaneous energy, especially when it involves some family "Twister" moves, haha! Eight-year-old Teddy and five-year-old Violet were eager to show me some of their gymnastic talents on their swing set (and on Tim, too)! The kiddos were extra curious about ...
Becka :: Lolo Montana birthday party
One of the things I love most about my job is getting to know my clients over the years and helping them celebrate their milestones. So I was giddy when Becka got in touch with me about making photos of her Lolo Montana birthday party to celebrate her 40th! She had lots of family and friends in town to help ring in her new decade, and I love that she had me there to document the joy folks were feeling that day! Thankfully we managed to somehow skirt a major thunderstorm (as has been the theme this year) and were instead treated to a gorgeous sunny evening. And even though the mosquitoes were wicked, they didn't dampen any of the ...
Kristan, Ben, Lincoln + Cormac :: Missoula summer family photos at the University of Montana
I am always so happy when I hear from Kristan, Ben, Lincoln, and Cormac that they're back in town visiting, and that we get to make more Missoula summer family photos at the University of Montana for them! I've been photographing their family for several years now, and it is always an absolute delight to get to hang out with them, laugh together, and document their wonderful family! This year we decided to hike up the "M" trail a bit, explore the grasses, and have a blast laughing our heads off as we yelled Lincoln's favorite funny words. (I'll let you guess what a five-year-old boy might choose. 😉) We ventured back down to check out ...
Greg, Mary + Jeremiah :: Hamilton Montana family photos
Way back in November of last year, Greg reached out to me about making Hamilton Montana family photos of him, his wife, Mary, and their son Jeremiah — and he booked the session as a surprise Christmas present for Mary. Fast forward a bit, and we planned on photographing sometime in spring, but it rained and rained and rained, and I think we had to reschedule something like six times! However, even with all those reschedules and rain delays, serendipity was on our side, and we experienced the most gorgeous evening together. The wildflowers were even still in bloom due to our wet, cold spring. I met up with Greg, Mary, and Jeremiah on their ...
Kristie, Darwin, Isaac, Sophia + Noah :: Family photos at the Ranch at Rock Creek
It was such a treat to get to meet up with Kristie, Darwin, Isaac, Sophia, and Noah for their family photos at the Ranch at Rock Creek! They were visiting Montana from Florida, so our weather was slightly different than what they're used to. We've had a very, very wet spring in Montana (did you see what happened to Yellowstone? 😳) , and even though it drizzled during our entire session, we still all made the most of it together! I loved seeing how much fun their entire family has together — there were plenty of giggles to go around, some "mom adjustments" to hairstyles and good-natured joking, and the kids definitely know how to make each ...
On assignment for Cyclist magazine :: Tyler Hamilton shoot in Missoula Montana
Recently I had the pleasure of going on assignment for Cyclist magazine to photograph Tyler Hamilton for a feature the magazine was doing on him for their summer issue, which is on news stands now. Tyler Hamilton was one of the whistleblowers who helped to reveal cycling's doping scandal — including doping by Lance Armstrong, as well as his own use during his own racing career. Tyler detailed all of that in his autobiography (co-written with Daniel Coyle), The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France. (It went on to become a New York Times bestseller.) We fit in our shoot during Tyler's son's nap time, and he was just ...
Dandelion Catering :: Spring Food Photography in Missoula Montana
I constantly ask myself this question when shooting food photography: "How on earth can food be so darn gorgeous?" Here's how — so much of it has to do with the chef behind it, and Tara of Dandelion Catering is an absolute magician when it comes to her food's beauty and taste. Both are divine! We had such a great time during Dandelion Catering's spring food photography in Missoula Montana, and we even got to create some business branding imagery, too. Dandelion Catering's space is cozy, light, and bright, and immediately inviting. And for good reason — you will 100% want to hang out a while and let the delicious aromas waft over you as you ...
On assignment for People magazine :: “Half Their Size” Shoot in Stevensville Montana
I'm so excited to start off the new year by revealing that I was recently on assignment for People magazine for their "Half their Size" shoot in Stevensville, Montana. The lovely Jeannette Asbury was featured in this article, and this week the story went live — both on the front page of People's website, and in print. You can read Jeannette's story in the new issue on newsstands as we speak! This shoot was such a blast! People magazine's photo editor, Sarah Fernando, contacted me in early December to ask if I'd like to do the shoot (but I didn't know what I'd be photographing), and it was a no-brainer to say yes. Fast forward a bit and it ...
